simple acts of kindness #1

For this blog series, I want to try and perform totally simple (and random!) acts of kindness from this book I purchased: Simple Acts of Kindness. This book claims in its subtitle to have over 500 ways of being kind listed in the book. My goal is to perform one truly random act of kindness, hopefully one I’ve never done before, and report how it goes!

To start, I opened the book to a random page, page 6. I’ll admit I picked an earlier page, hoping the ideas in the beginning are easier than those towards the end. Here is the simple act of kindness I picked from page 6:
“Drop by a friend’s house with iced coffee”- should be easy enough.

The Plan- written Friday the 13th!
I love a good plan, so I’m making one now. It’s early morning on Friday, August 13th. I plan to take an iced coffee to my friend Sherrie by Thursday of next week.
I need to do my best to follow the instructions given as closely as possible. I want to change the location of where I deliver the coffee for example, but I know that driving to a friend’s house is more impactful than say bringing them a coffee to work. I recently visited Dunkin Donuts with my friend Sherrie, so I happen to know her iced coffee order! And, I know where she lives and her schedule is similar to mine.
You can make random acts of kindness easy, try to build them into your day.

Update: Wednesday night

I still haven’t done this random act of kindness. 🙁
